Disability rights project


- Goal
The Rights of disabled people is established and protected in Lao PDR.
- Purpose:
To draft a disability rights law by disabled people in coorperation with relevant governmental and other authorities.
- To raise awareness about disability rights among policy makers
- To propose a draft disability rights law to the government and advocate it in the    approval process

World bank project

Connecting Lao Disabled People with the World

The WB project gives the LDPA greater capacity to use modern technology to engage LDPA members, particularly youth, in a civil dialogue with policy makers.
The Project piggy backs on the goals of the RLC through expanding the coverage of RLC programs to 8 provincial radio stations and to stream shows over the internet.

Handicap International Belgium

To share local rehabilitation and development news with PWD in Vientiane Province. The Radio Program also gives voice to  the issues affecting disabled people in Vientiane.
 The program goes to air each Sunday from 18:30-19:00pm. 52 programs are produced every year. Readmore >>

Giving PWD the technical assistance to carry out day to day activities in Lao PDR poses several unique challenges.
The environment in Lao can change quite drastically from season to season. Roads are usually gravel and open to change from season to season. Hence traditional wheelchairs are unable to deal with the extremes from wet and muddy to dry terrain. Readmore >>
